Hey!!
First and foremost, let me tell u all about me. I am Aadarsh, A student in his first year of college pursuing a BS degree in Engineering at IISER Bhopal. I was born in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, but thanks to my father's job stayed across India; in fact, I completed my school life across 5 states of India but more about this in my other planned blogs.
This blog is all about my college and how I reached here......I was raised in a typical Indian family expecting their child to excel academically. I was sent to one of the best schools in Bihar and later to a great high school. I spend the last few school years attending online school and coaching classes in New Delhi, thanks but no thanks to Covid.

I was preparing for JEE (An entrance exam for premier engineering colleges in India). It would be wrong to say that I was preparing for engineering college to my parents' saying but for true love. JEE is not the perfect exam, but it's, of course, the most practical method for a country like India to find qualified students for engineering.

I prepared for almost 2 years sitting in a room in a small- rented house in Delhi but however failed to get a decent Rank. IISER came to my rescue then. I got my first preference over there, i.e., the Engineering science department of IISER Bhopal.
My fun with my friends at IISERB started much before we joined. Many of us came to know each other during online counseling via telegram and WhatsApp. Once it was sure that we were going to join IISERB, we started google meets to just pass our time.  |

Those were strange days; we hardly knew each other, but we used to like chat for hours, sometimes till 3 in the morning. Among Us was our favorite thing; next was scribble.

I finally reached the institute in Bhopal on the 1st of December. The moment I entered the campus, I felt this is the place where I belong. After 2 years of city life in Delhi, I was back to the world I was used to...a campus just like the military ones in which my parents raised me. Everything was so maintained; every tree, flower, and building was welcoming us.
I was thrown into a day-long registration process starting from the hostel, mess, and academic...The next day I returned to college and was finally shifting into a hostel room. Took a few essentials (lots of snacks) from the shopping center and bid farewell to mom...
After this moment, how time passed, I don't know. It's all magical. We started with our academic classes and lots of orientation. The first one was the freshers' orientation by the institute administration.
It's difficult to pen down so many beautiful things that happened, so I will post lots of pictures over here to give u a sense. If you ask me now whether my decision to join IISERB was right or wrong, my answer would be a BIG RIGHT!!!! This institute is very special; the kind of people I see here truly inspire me. This place gives me lots of confidence, and I eagerly await the future.
